Present: the Results

Some of you may recall that OH and I went extra-lame this year and both got ourselves our Xmas gifts. We didn't plan it that way but we were both very happy with the results. OH got himself a new small camera he'd be lusting after for ages. The thing was not cheap, so he ended up selling some lenses for his larger camera that he didn't really use. The small camera is pretty nifty - it is really good for fast moving children, and it has all sorts of bells and whistles. This is where having a partner who compliments you is awesome. I am terrible at reading up and really getting into all the capabilities of a piece of equipment. I generally figure out what I need it to do and don't look any further. Why this only holds for hardware, I have no idea. Fortunately OH has more patience on this front and he has produced lovely results:

Electic Kool Aid Acid Play Center

Mon cadeau: a glider. We heart the glider. The nice thing is that both of us use with great pleasure the gift the other got themselves. OH is sitting in the glider now as we speak (it is the perfect chair for playing video games) and I use the camera on my mamadag.

Behold! Lightening fast shutter speed and response capture the elusive toddler smile during meals.

Then she made it easy and was ridiculously cute and smiley on OH's daddy day.

Who has ever been this happy to drink water?

Arg!!! Die of cuteness - direct frontal cuteness attack!

Of course, everybody wants to know what type of camera it is, right? Why, of course, it's a Sony RX-100, since you ask... ;)

No, Papa Podolny, we must store the cuteness attacks so that when they are surly, grumpy teens, we can look back and remember why we had kids in the first place. :) I love the juxtaposition of the super colorful play thing with the very monochromatic sofa/glider picture!

Nice camera, am going to have to check that out. Sounds like it has quite a few cool features and compete with the big guys on image quality/speed.
