We had a great weekend. The weather was the same, soul-sucking cold and gray it was been the last couple weeks. Friday was mommy day. We had to run around and do errands, and then I had a stinky work call at 11h00. I was not happy. If I do have to do work calls on mamadagen, I do them during Munchkin's nap. But the situation merited. I secretly hoped she would scream the whole time. But she was a perfect angel the entire nearly 1h call. Sigh - next time Munchkin, you have my permission! Scare people from Friday calls. After nap we hustled out to a play date with our birth class friends, which was good fun.
Friday night, I got to go out for a last evening with my girl, the four musketeers. We met at our friend's house in Ijburg. We had delicious food, drank too much, ate too much. Laughed a bunch. Reminisced Our friend A is leaving us to return to the US, she was my first real friend in the Netherlands. It was good, good times.
Next day was rough! Sleepy, feeling a little sore, pretty much all day. Whew! But it was also OH's birthday! I got up early and made pancakes, sausage, OJ. We had a wonderful breakfast, pretty much ate to bursting. It was frigidly cold, but we went out anyways. It didn't last long, it was simply too cold. We went to a cafe to let Munchy run a bit more, then came home for nap. That evening we went out for our friend A's goodbye drinks. We went to a bar that was very Dutch, sort of rustic and scrappy, with an excellent view out over the water and back on Amsterdam.
Sunday we had a chill day. It was cold and gray. We visited our friend E and M and their little girl N. We hung out indoors. We made soup. It was a good Sunday.
